Kendrick Perkins Versus His Bed

121207-kendrick-perkins.JPGBoston Celtic Kendrick Perkins might miss today's game against the Sacramento Kings because a bed attacked his toe.

No kidding. Even the AP just let Perkins tell the story of the headboard that tried to take his toe:

I was asleep. I guess whoever put my bed together didn't put it together right when I moved, so one side of my bed fell. My bed was tilted, so I got out of my bed to go push down on the other side.

And when I was about getting ready to push down on the other side, the headboard started coming in. So I tried to push the headboard back so it wouldn't fall over. My foot was under the bed and the other side of the bed fell on my foot.

Did Perkins get an IKEA bed? An IKEA bed definitely might try to swallow a big toe if assembled incorrectly. But what would an NBA player be doing with an IKEA bed? Then again, Perkins is a big guy (264 lbs., according to the NBA), so it's possible that he had a wussy bed that couldn't hold him up.

Anyway, this may be the weirdest reason for missing a game ever.
