--Police at Dorchester District Court released the wrong man, according to the Dorchester Reporter. The Reporter is very kind to the officers involved: "In a rare but potentially embarrassing gaffe, officers at Dorchester District Court this week appeared to release the wrong man, allowing him to waltz out of the courthouse and bolt down Washington Street, as confusion reigned inside."
The reporter, Gintautas Dumcius, later notes that "The court officers glumly walked back to the courthouse minutes later."
Now that's a bad day at work.
--The 18 veterans who protested against the war at City Hall during Veterans' Day and were arrested will not face charges. The Globe reports that "a judge in Boston Municipal Court on Friday dismissed the charges outright."
--A woman who was hired to do cleaning at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic church in Orleans was arrested for stealing from the church on Wednesday. WCVB says that, according to a police detective, she was caught with marked bills that the police used to find the thief.
--And is BPD News down again? It hasn't been updated since Wednesday?
All charges alleged until proven under law.
