Vamoose Gets the Boot

121307-vamoose.gifDue to red tape, the Vamoose bus, which Bostonist had written about recently, is no longer allowed to run from Cambridge to New York City.

Vamoose didn't get a jitney license that lets them pick up and drop off passengers, the Crimson reports. This is such a letdown when it comes to cheap buses, especially now that the Peter Pan drivers are earning a reputation for douchebaggery. Vamoose was even supposed to have wireless.

The Vamoose logo currently reads "More Bang for Your Buck--No Bull." That logo has particular resonance now that the home page carries the following bright-red announcement: "Bus Service Between NYC & Cambridge Mass is temporarily suspended until certain issues within the city of Cambridge are resolved."

So, when it comes to cheap trips, remember that Fung Wah is always there for you.

hi Vamoose bus was a great service for the Residence of Cambridge and for all students in the neighberhood, the reason why vamoose stoped operating acording to Vamoose officials is tat they had all neede permits unti peter pan filed a false complaint against them and their license was put on hold till the issue will be resolved, Vamoose has shown great respect for all local citys where they serve. and they offer verry goo personal service. I used vamoose Bus to travel from Cambridge to Arlington (i figured it out myself they dont advertise this service) and i experianced a great service its a shame that they cant operate, we are the one loosing out not peter pan because i would never use peter pan i would rather drive.

    Thank yiu
