Cape Wind has already suffered delays galore as opponents figure out what else they can study about the wind farm in Nantucket Sound--and they've received another delay for Christmas.
The United States Minerals Management Service, which has the authority to yay or nay the project, announced yesterday that it will delay its report on Cape Wind until next year, the AP reports.
Even though contributions to the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound, the project's main opponents, dropped this year, the Alliance is still strong, and Senator Ted Kennedy is no fan of Cape Wind. They've managed to delay the project enough already.
Wendy Williams, co-author of Cape Wind along with Projo editorial-page editor Robert Whitcomb, notes that Cape Wind opponents paid a visit to the Minerals Management Service before yesterday's announcement. Janet Joakim, President of the Barnstable Town Council, documents this visit and their talking points, including financing, disaster planning, and more. Joakim also leaves a message for readers of Williams' blog.

Joakim admits she's never read Cape Wind but then says that Williams "never actually talked to any of the towns or communities that would be impacted by this project." Joakim's comment makes plain that she's never read Cape Wind and should do so. Williams and Whitcomb did their homework and found that many Cape residents are pro-Cape Wind.
By this point, it should be clear that Bostonist is pro-Cape Wind and pro-windpower. However, we did speak with Christy Mihos, Co-Chair of the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound, and the interview presents the opposing viewpoint.
