Boudoir photography is normal. Boudoir photography being leaked to the masses is somewhat normal (thanks, Pam Anderson and Paris Hilton, for sharing). But Greater Boston's sex blogger, Lena Chen of Sex and the Ivy, is facing an unpleasant twist on the bedroom snapshot.

A 35-year-old grad student Chen used to go out with has been spreading images of her on the web and buzzed IvyGate that he had nude photos of her. (FYI, Bostonist is not linking to one of the naughty ones. Find 'em yourself.)

Bostonist spoke with Chen on the phone about the situation. She said that her ex had been "persistent" in trying to contact her, and she said, "I didn't realize how unstable he was." She said that she will be talking to a lawyer and university police. When asked by Bostonist if she was certain that her ex did this and not someone who wanted revenge on both Chen and her ex and somehow got their mitts on the camera, Chen said she was positive it was him.

The story doesn't seem all that different from a standard Creepy Ex Tale, and it's not really our business, but some of the comments made about Chen on IvyGate and Sex and the Ivy were disturbing. Basically, some commenters are blaming Chen for her own situation and calling her by unpleasant names. These comments are ridiculous--she writes about sex, but just because she has sex (college students have sex? gasp!) doesn't mean she should be expected to have a psychic sense about which of her partners might harass her later. What's important to remember is that everyone has a right to reach out to the authorities and speak out if someone starts bothering them.
