MittWatch: More Horseplay for Ann
Recently, the world learned that Ann Romney, former First Lady of Massachusetts, is an equestrienne and that one of the Five Brothers gave presidential candidate Mitt Romney a horse mask so Momma Romney would give Daddy Romney a little more attention.
Riding the ponies has also helped Ann better manage Mitt, as shown in a public exchange in Rochester, New Hampshire:
The evening opened, though, with Romney introducing his wife, who said she could tell stories all night testifying to his character -- as she had all week in Iowa."Would you rather listen to me or Mitt?" she asked at one point, laughing. "I could take his whole time."
Her husband, feigning indignation, sat down in the front row while his wife of 38 years turned more serious.
"You really should trust him to take the keys to the car and drive this country where it needs to be driven," she said.
Whip it good! Romney eventually returned to the stage to deliver some presidential schtick, but, even if the routine was scripted beforehand, it suggests that Ann Romney has effectively tamed her stallion. But we'd still love to hear what Dr. Ruth might say about their relationship as they present it to the press.
Mashup by Caroline Roberts.
