Pats Fan Attempts Shortcut at Gillette, Hits Concrete
Yesterday before the Patriots vs. Dolphins game in Foxboro, a fan "jumped from a 17-foot high pedestrian walkway heading towards the stores at Patriot Place," the Globe reports.
He thought he would land in a snow bank, but he landed on concrete--on his head. He is now in intensive care at Beth Israel Hospital.
What was his motive? WHDH says that the guy was trying to take the shortcut to end all shortcuts. In a masterpiece of understatement, reporter Grant Greenberg said, "One of the people thought he was taking a shortcut jumping onto a snowbank. As you can see, there is no snowbank there."
And police are investigating whether or not alcohol was involved.
