--A truck crashed on the Revere Beach Parkway last night. No one was hurt, but the incident shut down the parkway in both directions. According to WBZ, "State police officials said a truck went under the overpass on Route 107 North heading toward Chelsea and smashed into the top of the Route 16 bridge, bringing concrete down onto the roadway and damaging Route 16." The road has since been reopened. [WBZ, WHDH]

--Two suspects have been detained for possible involvement in the kidnapping of Spc. Alex Jimenez, of Lawrence, who went missing in May in Iraq and who has not been found. [WBZ]

--Smile! You're on candid camera! Two intrepid student reporters found that there are surveillance cameras all over Newton South High. And no one knew until the paper came out. Oops. [Boston Globe]

--Local animal fans haven't let the tiger attack in San Francisco deter them from visiting the tigers at Franklin Park Zoo. For the record, tigers Anala and Luther are behind a 20-foot fence. [Boston Herald]

--A stagehand at the Boston Opera House suffered a heart attack yesterday afternoon before "The Nutcracker." Emergency responders had to put him in a basket and lower him to the floor with ropes. The man is now in the hospital. When the writers' strike is over, this needs to become an episode for one of the medical dramas. [Boston Herald]
