Continuing our list of list series, Bostonist slugged through all the best and worst of lists for the albums of 2007.

2007 was a year that was chock-full of great new music. Even more exciting was the breadth of talent, both old and new. A lot of diverse artists in a wide-range of genres got national attention, a trend we certainly hope continues in 2008.
We found many albums that were consistently in all the Top Ten lists:
- Radiohead In Rainbows: This album, and the ingenious trend-bucking way it was marketed, could be argued as the music story of the year. What made it great however was that the album itself was one Radiohead's best. Driving beats were layered with surprisingly emotional lyrics to produce something that impressed the most prudent fans.
- LCD Soundsystem Sound of Silver: They're back and better than ever with a catchy dance/electronic album that offers depth and shows growth.
- M.I.A. Kala: Critics across every spectrum raved about this album. What made it special was its variety - M.I.A. implemented many world influences onto the tracks, and her ingenuity paid off.
- The Arcade Fire Neon Bible: It seemed an impossible task to top Funeral, luckily for us, it wasn't, and the Canadian Indie rockers delivered.
- The National Boxer: The greatness of this album will make you cry into your beer.
- Other notables: Spoon Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, Wilco Sky Blue Sky, Amy Winehouse Back to Black
Since 2007 was such a great year for music, there weren't many "worst of" lists, but we loved Pitchfork's Worst album covers of the year
Some worst albums we saw a few times included new releases from Jennifer Lopez (obviously), Smashing Pumpkins (disappointingly), and Souljaboy (amen to that)
Have any favorites that were left off the major lists?

Obviously not included in any of those, but Devin Townsend's Ziltoid The Omniscient was fantastic.

Of course, Wilco's album was entitled Sky Blue Sky, not Big Sky Blue, but whatever.
Fornya, you know what the worst part is? I own the album and I still can't get it right!!
Thank you for posting the link to worst album covers. I cracked up! The Eagles suck!
Even though I agree with Pitchfork that the New Pornographers "Challengers" cover looked dumb, I enjoyed the record. People said that it was too slow and that Carl Newman was too happy, but I still couldn't resist.
