Boston Blotter: Snowplows, YouTube Bombs

102207-party-police.jpg--Last night, a snowplow struck a pregnant woman as she was walking in Billerica. She is now in the hospital. Her injuries are non-life-threatening. The driver of the snowplow stayed on the scene, but he was citied for driving with a suspended license. [Boston Globe]

--A woman riding in a car tried to remove a police barricade that had been set up in response to the fatal South Boston fire early on New Year's Day. Police told her that the barrier was set up for a reason, but she didn't like that. She said--get this--"because she paid taxes, she could move any barrier she wanted." She left, came back to the barriers, and knocked them down again. Police arrested this person under the all-purpose charge of Disorderly. The BPD Blotter writer titled the incident "Barrier Buster Arrested in South Boston," but Bostonist would have preferred "Take Your Taxes and Shove It." [BPD News]

--An 18-year-old from Hyannis has been watching too much YouTube. Inspired by a viral video, he made two homemade Coke-bottle bombs, one of which exploded in a Shaw's parking lot last night and another which the bomb squad detonated. [WBZ]

--A woman from Orange was shot to death in White Bluff, Tennessee, when she was visiting her daughter-in-law. The suspects in the shooting are the daughter-in-law's two foster children. [Boston Herald]

--A 19-year-old was stabbed to death in Brockton early on New Year's Day. No arrests have been made. [Boston Herald]

--A 15-year-old was arrested yesterday morning for stabbing a 20-year-old in Plymouth. A woman and a 27-year-old man were also allegedly involved with the crime. [Boston Globe]

All charges alleged until proven under law.
