Someone allegedly fired a model rocket at an AirWisconsin plane that was landing at Logan Airport yesterday. According to Danielle Capalbo at the Globe:
The pilot of AirWisconsin flight 180A saw what appeared to be a spark or firework in front of the plane around 12:26 p.m., after the jet had descended to 500 feet and was preparing to land, said FAA spokeswoman Holly Baker.
The rocket seems to have come from Belle Isle Marsh, and Jorge at OrientSee and Adam at Universal Hub have been keeping track of duck hunters who have been doing their thing at Belle Isle right underneath planes flying into Logan Airport. Jorge took a picture of the duck hunters and called the BPD, but the hunters left before the BPD arrived.
With the recent model rocket and the duck hunters, the State Police might want to increase patrols at Belle Isle Marsh. They have asked for tips, and you can call Troop F at 617-561-1700 (via WBZ).
