What Would the Morning Be Like Without the Metro?
When it comes to the battle of Boston's daily papers, we didn't think that the Metro was in trouble. Sure, the daily papers aren't meaty, but they help
while wile away the time on a subway ride. Boston NOW has also had some problems with getting the little things right, such as an unfortunate boo-boo on its front page after the New Hampshire primaries.
But the Metro's parent company wants to sell Metro Boston. That news was a surprise for Metro Boston's publisher, the Globe reports. Somehow, despite the fact that the Metro is covered in ads, wrapped in ads, and is basically one huge ad, the paper is losing money. The company is also looking to sell the Metros for New York and Philadelphia. Adam Reilly reports that the Examiner group put in a bid.
But we're more worried about the people who hand out the Metro at the subway stops. Some of them developed great chants, and "FREE EXAMINER" doesn't have the same ring as "FREEEE MET-ROOO!"

...they help while away the time
Actually, I believe they help you wile away the time. Much like I spend proofreading Bostonist...
