Bostonist dug Charles Burns before we even knew who he was thanks to his covers for The Believer magazine. Burns will be reading from and discussing his latest, Black Hole, a graphic novel in which a plague strikes Seattle teens. Brookline Booksmith, 7:00 pm, free.

The latest entry in inspirational true-life sports tales comes from Charlestown. In The Assist, Neil Swidey follows a white basketball coach put in charge of an all-black team as it continues to recover from the busing crisis. Has this been optioned to a movie studio yet? Politics
Tomorrow is the deadline to register to vote in the presidential primary. The Boston Election Department has more details if you haven't registered.
