Boston Blotter: 16-Year-Old Shot 13 Times

102207-party-police.jpg--16-year-old Carlos Sierra was shot to death in Dorchester last night. At this time, the BPD is still searching for a motive. Police say a gray Honda was spotted leaving the scene. His family told the Globe that he was shot 13 times, and they feel he was targeted. [Boston Herald, Boston Globe]

--Eight of 10 women in Massachusetts who are trying to get away from domestic violence can't find a space in shelters because of budget cuts. [MetroWest Daily News]

--The flood of hooker stories continues. Today's tale comes from West Cambridge, where a woman who went by "Tammy." The story would be garden-variety if it weren't for the fact that "Tammy" was charging $200 an hour. [Cambridge Chronicle]

--A road rager threw a "cup of an unknown liquid" through a police officer's window after an incident in which the driver attempted to pass the officer. The words "unknown liquid" make the substance seem much worse than it probably was. [Somerville Journal]

--Someone's been stealing chairs from the Student Center at MIT--$20,000 worth to be precise. The cost of replacing each chair is $437.25, which makes one wonder why MIT is spending that kind of money on chairs? Imagine what U-Mass-Boston could do with that kind of dough. [The MIT Tech]
