Today's MossGate Round-Up

011608-randy-moss.jpgAfter Randy Moss vigorously defended himself after a woman in Florida served him with a temporary restraining order, the woman's lawyer, David McGill, provided a different story.

Where Moss suggested that the woman, whom he has known for some time, was trying to extort money from him, the lawyer said that Moss tried to pay her "hush money" in the six figures.

In court documents, the victim checked off a box stating that Moss had a drug/alcohol problem. McGill corroborated that with the following words: "… there is serious doubt that Mr. Moss is capable of recalling with clarity the exact details of what transpired that evening." John Tomase at the Herald has the full statement.

Then, Team Moss fired back. Last night, Moss' agent, Tim DiPiero, e-mailed the Globe to describe his interactions with McGill. DiPiero stated that McGill started demanding money from Moss last Wednesday: "[McGill] told me that Randy had intentionally hurt his client’s hand and wouldn’t take her to the hospital and that if Randy didn’t pay up, he would go public and file suit in Florida for battery." DiPiero said that he called the FBI. The full text of the e-mail is at the Globe website. Clearly, both sides are fighting with everything they have.

As this drama swirls around Moss, coach Bill Belichick remains focused on the game with the Chargers. He said, "I support Randy 100 percent." The subliminal message? He would much rather talk about the game.
