Happening Today & Tonight: Sleeper, Free MFA
Art
Although the weather is bone-chilling, the MFA wants to lure you out of the house with free admission until 4:45 this afternoon. Kendrick Oliver and the New Life Jazz Orchestra will also perform in Remis Auditorium between 11:00 am and 3:30 pm. More info from the MFA.
Movies
One of Woody Allen's best will screen at the Coolidge Corner Theatre as part of the "Science on Screen" series. In Sleeper, Woody Allen is transported into the future, where he must stop a dictator's nose from being cloned. In the meantime, he rewrites history and says what so many of us tend to think of Richard Nixon now--whenever he left the White House, the Secret Service used to count the silverware. Brock Reeve, Executive Director of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and brother of the late Christopher Reeve, will introduce the film and discuss--what else?--cloning. 7:00 pm.
