A Woburn man was arrested and went to court today for allegedly raping an unconscious woman in a bathroom at Felt late Friday night. 21-year-old Nicholas Chiaraluce pled not guilty to a count of aggravated rape. The details of the case, provided by the DA's Office, are beyond disturbing:
Club employees told responding Boston Police that a patron had seen Chiaraluce having sex with an unconscious woman when he went to use the establishment’s second-floor men’s room. Police spoke with that patron, who told them that he had gone to use the bathroom and observed Chiaraluce having sex with the unconscious victim on the toilet.Boston Police also spoke with a friend of Chiaraluce, who told them that Chiaraluce had called him and asked him to come up to the second-floor men’s room. When he arrived, the man said, he saw the victim with her pants around her knees and Chiaraluce asked him to help him dress her. The man refused.
While speaking to officers, Chiaraluce allegedly made statements indicating that he did not know the victim but had bought her a drink. The officers observed what appeared to be either blood or vomit on his pants; they seized those pants and a pair of women’s underwear recovered from the bathroom.
Chiaraluce is out on bail. According to the Globe, he maintained his innocence as he left court and said he was trying to help the alleged victim, not hurt her.
All charges alleged until proven under law. Felt logo from the club's official site.
