Wednesday Happenings

Art
The exhibit Rhythms of Modern Life: British Prints 1914–1939 shows the sharp, mechanical-feeling prints that set the artistic tone for the future. Museum of Fine Arts. Read Bostonist's preview of the show. Runs through June 1.
Fashion
Put away your spindles. Fashionistas can flash forward to the 21st century at Seamless, which showcases "experimental works in computational apparel design." The dry-witted Steven Rosengard of Project Runway 4 will be hosting, and Red Sox pitcher Manny Delcarmen will model a "Vanity Ring" that shows how many Google hits a person has. But will Star Simpson be the guest of honor? Museum of Science, 8:00pm. $15.
Books
Rob Sheffield is so John Cusack in High Fidelity--he's even got the same first name! In Love is a Mixtape, Rolling Stone writer Sheffield explores his mixed-up love life via an extensive personal collection of mix tapes. Hear Sheffield read from this musical memoir at 7 p.m. at Brookline Booksmith.
May-Jah
If Victoria Beckham were a work of art, she would be a Jeff Koons piece, no? See what outrageous getups she'll no doubt have on when she appears at Saks at noon. Then go check her and all the other Spice, uh, Women at TD Banknorth tonight at 7:30. Or, better yet, take pictures of the Spice Girl fans.
Experimental Film
Jim Jennings has seen his work at MoMA and the Whitney, but tonight he'll be in humbler surroundings. The MassArt Film Society screens five of his short films, each offering a gorgeous and ephemeral glimpse at urban life and architecture. Screening Room 1, East Hall, MassArt, 621 Huntington Avenue, 8:00 pm. Free.
