A very brief Redux today, since we're saving our best stuff for the YouKnowWhat XLII Live-Blog, which will start around 5:30 (not 7:30 as we earlier reported).
The Bruins played well, but you have to play a perfect game to beat Detroit, and they didn't. Milan Lucic made a sweet steal that set up a Chuck Kobasew goal to take a 1-0 lead, but the Red Wings battered and battered and finally got to Tim Thomas a couple of times for the 3-1 win.
The NY Post offers XLII reasons why the Giants might win; to save time, about 33 of them are because the Patriots are cheaters. The ethics-aware NY Post still hasn't explained to our satisfaction their feeling about the steroid-soaked Yankee dynasty of the late '90s. Meanwhile, the Globe once again tries to explain our favorite enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a grey hoodie.
And congratulations to Andre Tippett, who proudly wore the Pat Patriot emblem in the pre-dynasty days, and got rewarded yesterday with a vote to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton. He's the fourth Patriot to be so honored, but won't be the last.
See you this afternoon.
