--A 22-year-old woman whose brother was killed four months ago was "shot in the chest in broad daylight" yesterday afternoon near her home in Mattapan. Neighbors told the Globe similar incidents had happened there before. [Boston Herald, Boston Globe]

--Two men were shot, one of them fatally, while sitting in a car in New Bedford on Sunday morning. [WHDH]

--The BPD arrested a man who had allegedly sexually assaulted one person and committed assault and battery on another. The incident happened on Saturday night at Beach and Edinboro. Witnesses acted quickly to stop him and hold him until police arrived: "Upon seeing the first attack, witnesses began yelling at the suspect. When witnesses began yelling, the suspect discontinued the attack and fled. While fleeing the scene, the suspect pushed a 2nd victim and threw her to the ground. At this point, witnesses intervened and detained the suspect." [BPD News]

--At least no one rioted because the Patriots lost. That says a lot about Boston sports fans--not all cities refrain from raging after a big loss. They kept the anger on the inside.

All charges alleged until proven under law.
