Boston Blotter: The Return of the Flagrant Foul

--Bostonist hasn't seen a "flagrant foul," or a sports-related blotter entry, in some time. The bad situation that was the Super Bowl loss just got worse for New England Patriots defensive back Willie Andrews, who was busted driving an unregistered car and having pot on him in Lowell. If it had happened to anyone one else, on any other day, no one would have cared. But the Herald points out that Andrews has a record. Uh, Not-So-Big Willie Style, anyone? --An 86-year-old on his way to vote lost control of his SUV and struck an 8-year-old girl near a school in Randolph. The girl is now at Boston Medical Center. [Boston Globe]

--The 35-year-old victim of Sunday's shooting in Dorchester, Donald George Smith Jr., was not the intended target, according to police. He was visiting his girlfriend at the time of the murder. [Boston Herald]

--Another high-profile incident in Springfield: A man with a machete went on a rampage, injuring two people. The alleged attacker said he was getting revenge because one victim had stabbed his sister. [WBZ]

--The BPD set out some juicy bait for a perp who has been allegedly stealing items from cars near Proctor and Mass Ave. They laid out a computer in a car, sat back, and waited. The perp couldn't resist and was caught after a foot chase. [BPD News]
