Boston Blotter: Alleged Murderer Found Dead in NC
-- The Bridgewater man being sought by police for the murder of his ex-wife was found dead last night, an apparent suicide. Andrew Boisvert was found hanging in an Iredell County, North Carolina rest stop. He was fleeing Friday's warrant for his arrest in the murder of Medford resident Margaret Ninos, who was found beaten to death in her home on Wednesday. A North Carolina rest stop worker discovered Boisvert's body hanging from a tree. [Globe; Herald]
-- Tragedy struck Dorchester yesterday when 17 year-old Kendall Floyd was shot dead in what appears to have been an accident. Rashard Monroe, 17, was arrested on charges of manslaughter, unlawfully carrying a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition in connection with the incident. Floyd was killed by a single shot to the head. [BPD; WCVB]
-- Police have released a sketch of the man who attempted to strangle a 40 year-old woman in Newton yesterday. Investigators claim that the 5' 5" man walked into the Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Center using what appeared to be a proper ID. He then approached the victim, who was seated in the library, and strangled her until she passed out. Detectives are looking for more information. [Globe]
-- Investigators thwarted a car thief yesterday morning. Members of the Governor's Auto Task Force staked out a stolen car found parked at the corner of Clarkson and Barry Streets. They arrested a 23 year-old Dorchester man after he entered the car. Officers also recovered the keys, which the car's owner had used to unintentionally abet the theft -- by leaving them in the ignition. [BPDNews]
-- Police arrested a 19 year-old Roxbury man and charged him with assault by means of a dangerous weapon in connection with a stabbing in Charlestown yesterday. Police found a pocketknife on the suspect. [BPDNews]
-- Former Boston police officer and convicted steroid peddler Edgardo Rodriguez was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison. The 38 year-old Hyde Park man had been convicted of distributing steroids, perjury, and obstructing justice in a federal probe of Boston police corruption.
All charges alleged until proven under law.
