JFK Love Child Rumor Returns for V-Day

020808-love-child.jpgThe rumors that JFK fathered a love child who is now living in Canada have not gone away. In fact, they seem to be gaining strength, at least up north.

The love child went to the press and revealed some information about himself. His first name is "Jack," of course. The Herald has his full name, but the Toronto Globe & Mail does not.

"Jack" wants DNA tests, and he says people stop him and regularly tell him he looks like JFK. He wants the tests so the magazine Vanity Fair will have proof that he is JFK's son. Lending credence to his story, he insists that he isn't doing this for money. All indications suggest that he presents a measure of dignity:

He said he is agonizing about what his outing will do to his family and others, and that he was not prepared to deal with that just yet. He said he had expected the information to come out in Vanity Fair, eventually, and was co-operating with the publication, but had thought he would have some notice, and an opportunity to prepare - both himself and those in his life. The surprise story in the New York Post last Thursday threw him for a loop, and the subsequent media attention has made him "uneasy."

The Herald tried to contact Ted Kennedy, as they did when the story first broke, to no avail. It might be gossip or fanning flames. It certainly comes at a bad time for Ted Kennedy as he steps into the media glare to stump for presidential candidate Barack Obama. Then again, any Kennedy is familiar with gossip and the media glare. And if "Jack" is indeed a Kennedy, he should get used to that scrutiny as well.
