Boston Blotter: Brockton Cab Driver Killed

102207-party-police.jpg--Someone shot a Brockton cab driver in the head yesterday morning. The shot caused the driver's foot to hit the gas, sending the car crashing into three other ones. The driver, Edward Conley, had been sent to the street where he died to fulfill a cab request. However, the motive is hazy. Conley still had money on his person, according to sources. All that is known about the subject is that he wore a gray hooded sweatshirt. [Boston Herald]

--Early Saturday morning, the BPD came upon a potfest in Roxbury that was 70 persons strong. That in itself is not Blotter-worthy, but an officer noted "an open purse with the butt of a gun sticking out of it." One man was arrested for pushing officers, and the leasees of the apartment were arrested on a bucketload of charges, including the standard "Keepers of a Disorderly House." [BPD News]

--Yesterday afternoon, a man was allegedly caught shoplifting at the South Bay Target. The suspect took off and ran toward I-93. During the foot chase, the man "jumped the barriers alongside 93 South, and ran directly in the path of oncoming traffic causing numerous cars to swerve to avoid hitting him." Luckily for the man, he was caught before a car hit him. [BPD News]

All charges alleged until proven under law.
