The Food Monkey Searches for a Good Burrito
Bostonist tips its hat to one of our food contributors, Mike Prereau, aka the Food Monkey, who has written of his adventures in cuisine on this site in the past.
Today, his quest to find a good burrito appeared in the Globe. Along with the intrepid Jonah Feld of The Burrito Blog and John Liu, the group sampled burritos from Boca Grande, Anna's Taqueria, Qdoba, Boloco, and Chipotle to see what filled the tummy and pleased the palate. You'll have to read the article to see the results, but here's a sneak peek:
Farther down the table, Prerau was having problems of his own. His burrito was so loosely wrapped that it fell apart in his hands. "This is really bad wrapping technique," he said. "But look how bad the meat distribution is, too. See how all of the rice is on one side and the meat is on the other? Ohh, that's bad. I follow the meat, so this isn't gonna work."
To borrow the language of the Iron Chef, find out which burrito reigns supreme!
And The Food Monkey is only one of Bostonist's fine foodies. Check out the stylings of our other food-and-drink writers. We promise you'll be hungry when you're done.

Should have been "Boston's most acceptable burrito from a big chain."
El Pelon by a mile.
If John Pepper reads this (and we know that you will)....free burritos for everyone!
Kudos, wellbasically!! Those chain joints deliver mediocre burritos, but for the best burrito in town head to Peterborough St and order a Guapo from El Pelon. El Pelon definitely has the best burritos in Boston, but I'm willing to say that they're the best in this whole part of the country. I've had a lot of burritos from all over and no one comes close to El Pelon's - not even New York can compare.
Want.
