Bostonist Fashion: Lux Lash

022208-eye-lashes-with-makeup.jpgThe 21st century has seen dramatic improvements in faking it. These days we've got bigger and better fake nails, fake hair, fake boobs, and now? Fake eyelashes. Lux Lash, at 232 Newbury Street, offers semi-permanent lash extensions that last from a weekend to two months. The finished result is like a 24-7 application of lengthening and thickening mascara.

Bostonist isn't entirely sold on the transformational powers of synthetic lashes, even if they are individually applied by a trained professional. But after a month of hearing, "You look great! Did you lose weight?" around a friend who got a full set (60 lashes per eye), we definitely get the appeal.

The salon is small, but well-lit, clean and comfortable. Plus, customers can get a manicure, pedicure, and brow sculpting during their extension services. Lux Lash also offers a variety of other temporary eye fancification services, including application of old-fashioned strip lashes (meaning no worrying about sticky lash glue or shaky hands), colored extensions, eyelash crystals.

Hi, my wife got the eyelash extensions from Lux Lash and was pretty happy overall.

Her friend also got eyelash extensions done too, but went to ">http://www.angelbare.com/women.html#eyelash"> Angelbare - Boston Permanent Makeup, which is located in Newton, and was delighted with the results.

Take care,
Monk
