We just read Boston.com's update on our developing snow situation, and, honestly? We're more confused than we had been before.
Read the following two quotes to see if you can spot a snow emergency plan:
Point: "Governor Deval Patrick sent home all nonemergency state employees, and officials urged private businesses to do the same so snow crews can safely clear the roads."
Counterpoint: "Mass Highway officials were recommending commuters leave later and keep the roads clear for plows. 'We're urging people to stay as late as possible to wait out the storm or take public transportation,' [Mass Highway spokesman Adam Hurtubise] said."
So what do you do? Bostonist recommends leaving your car behind and hopping on the T. Avoid the buses, if at all possible, and rely on the traffic-immune Red, Orange, and Blue lines. If you are stuck in Brighton or Allston, you should probably just find a barstool and park yourself. You might be there a while.
Have any readers made it home yet? What's it like out there?
