Tonight: Comedy, Music, Special Guest Appearances!

022908-union-square-round-table.jpgUnion Square Round Table
Friday, February 29
PA's Lounge, 345 Somerville Ave, Somerville (Union Sq)
9:00 p.m., $8 for 21+ / $11 for 18+

It's the bonus day of the year, so Bonus! is tonight's theme of the (now) bimonthly multi-media performance night that's usually two hour-long segments. How the theme will manifest itself is a surpise until the performance, but frequent musical guest Yoni Gordon usually tries to tie in at least one song. When Bostonist pressed U.S.R.T. regular Keira Horowitz, she told us:

"...various bonuses we'll be given to the audience throughout the night. Gold sequin outfits, Ira Glass, a lending library, etc and maybe a large Russian who may or may not have performed at the MFA last night."

Oh, Keira, you're so cheeky... Over the past year, comedian Eugene Mirman has delighted Round Table audiences almost every time. ("Flight of the Conchords" fans will recognize him as Bret & Jemaine's peculiar building manager.) Last night this Mr. Mirman performed at the MFA with Michael Showalter and Jonathan Benjamin, so there's an ever-slight chance that Eugene might "pop in"... Maybe even with a friend or two...

Tonight's show will be full of comedy, music, and "bonus goodies" from: Chris Braiotta & TD Sidell, Nick Branigan, Steven Derocher, Marian Didio, Ben Dryer, Keira Horowitz, Caitlin Roy, Yoni Gordon (tonight with his band, The Goods), and "special guest(s) from NY".

Post contributed by Rob Vassegh of Cheap Thrills - Boston. Since we're not exactly sure of the possibilities, the image of the Bud can from the Union Square Round Table mySpace page will do.
