Boston Blotter:

--A Woburn college student was cleared of rape charges after prosecutors could not provide enough evidence that an attack had taken place in a bathroom at Felt nightclub in Boston. The man, 21, continually proclaimed his innocence, and said that any acts were consensual. The prosecution had alleged that the woman was unconscious, but didn't have enough evidence to take the case to trial. [Boston Herald]
--Police had surrounded a rape suspect's home in Dedham and were preparing to serve him warrants relating to a 2005 case when water began running under the door: the suspect was then found dead in his bathtub. The cause of death has not been reported. [Boston Globe]
--Yesterday we mentioned the story of a 24-year-old woman who was allegedly robbed of $500 at 10:30 a.m. by an armed masked man while babysitting her young nephew. The woman says she isn't sure how the man would know she was carrying money (which she planned to deposit later that day) and police do not yet have a suspect. [Boston Herald]
--A former Boston/Cambridge businessman allegedly owes the Commonwealth $3.4 million dollars from 18 years of back taxes. The man currently lives on the ocean in Beverly Farms, MA and his driveway features "a Bentley and Mercedes-Benzes." According to reports the man has previously plead guilty to tax evasion, and the state is trying to shame him into paying up by publishing this information. [Cambridge Chronicle]
All charges alleged until proven under law.
