Uncomplicated Brit rock act Pigeon Detectives, big in England and on their way here, will be at Great Scott. One critic at Contact Music describes them thusly: "In the way that Green Day or the Ramones used to do, the tunes just hit you in the face, grab you by the balls and drag you along at breakneck speed." Allston, 8:30, $12. See 'em before they're huge.

Movies
--The Harvard Film Archive pulls the feather out of its cap during its David Gordon Green retrospective by showing a sneak preview of his latest movie, Snow Angels, starring Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell. 7:00 pm, $10.

--The Brattle's "80s Rock" series is marvelous because audiences can either re-live or experience the kitschy qualities of the time period, but one of the best, most underrated movies in the series, Repo Man, in which Emilio Estevez deals with punks, aliens, bad grocery stores, Harry Dean Stanton, and his car truck, is on tonight. It's insane, it's hard to explain, and you should go. Brattle Theatre, 7:30 pm.
