Wednesday Happenings

032008-lazlo_pearlman_web.jpgGender-Bending Performance Artists
Lazlo Pearlman will perform "Madame Pierre's Other Tongue: A Surrealist Cabaret about Cunning Linguists" live at the Brattle Theatre as part of CineMental. Lazlo Pearlman went from female to male and has been writing and performing about gender and language. But, really, that doesn't explain the show. We're not sure the description we got from the Brattle explains it either: " The show is a 50 minute, one man production, including live singing and lipsync, physical theatre, multiple gorgeous costumes and genderfuck from a queer cabaret/burlesque transman Lazlo Pearlman’s point of view." 9:30 pm.

Frontline
WGBH will sneak preview Frontline's "Bush's War," which is airing as part of the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. A Q&A with producer Michael Kirk will follow. 7:25, Yawkey Auditorium in WGBH's hot new building, One Guest Street, Brighton, free, but RSVP.

Music
It's only natural, isn't it? The Pogues will be at the Orpheum tonight at 7:30 pm. Tickets are sold out, but a second show was added for tomorrow night. You know to hit up The Craig, for overpriced tickets at least.
