Boston Blotter: Teen Charged in February Shooting

102207-party-police.jpg-- Police have arrested a 17 year-old suspect in the February 16 shooting death of Brockton cab driver Edward Conley. The incident happened on Galen Street, a Brockton cul-de-sac. Police say that Adilson Neves bragged about the shooting to friends and gave a taped confession while in custody. Neves admitted that he had left a shoe at the crime scene, according to authorities. He was arraigned today in Brockton District Court and faces charges including murder, attempted armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm. [Globe; Herald]

-- Once again, the residents of Somerville gave Good Time a bad name. Good Time Emporium was the venue for an apparently impromptu 200 person Easter Sunday mêlée. Officers from the Somerville Housing Authority, the State Police, and Tufts University Police did what they could to contain the violence, using anti-riot tactics, expandable batons, and pepper spray. At one point, beleaguered officers found themselves surrounded by a crowd of more than 50 violent patrons. Order was finally restored when Good Time was evacuated.[Somerville Journal, Good Time Emporium's long history on the Boston Blotter]

-- A 13 year-old from Quincy was charged with drunk driving after allegedly crashing into a Dorchester light pole early this morning. The boy had allegedly stolen the car in Charlestown, and his crosstown joyride ended when he refused to pull over for a State Police officer, authorities said. [WBZTV; Globe]

-- A Weston man was arrested this weekend over charges that he trafficked cocaine and marijuana. The Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force raided his home Saturday afternoon and claim to have discovered $30,000 worth of money and drugs, including five ounces of cocaine and more than three pounds of marijuana. The arrest came after days of surveillance. [MetroWest Daily]

All charges alleged until proven under law.
