Update: The BU Free Press has a piece today entitled "Frat Brothers Try to Dispel Myths." Although we were expecting them to say they actually trash Radissons, not Days Inns, some of the nicer fraternity brothers explained that a few of them engage in philanthropy.
Allegedly a national convention for the Lambda Phi Epsilon fraternity turned into National-Lampoon-esque chaos at the Days Inn on Soldier's Field Road. The Allston-Brighton Tab reports that 100 people were ejected from the hotel after being caught "going from room to room and destroying items."
According to the report, a BU student may have been the ringleader of the bunch:
Officers stopped the supposed leader of the group, a BU student from Allston, who stated that he is a BU student and told police that they were meeting to discuss nationwide matters. While police were speaking with the suspect, two of his BU chapter brothers came to his aid and offered to discuss a resolution to the problem the group created. The hotel manager estimated the damage to be $25,000.
$25,000 worth of damage at a Days Inn. Now that says something because very little at Days Inn is valuable unless they set fire to the beds.
The comments following the article quickly devolved into threats of urinating on other people's cars.
All charges of property destruction and acting like Belushi alleged until proven under law.

And BU students wonder why they have a bad reputation among those of us who live in Allston. Are we sure BU is actually a university and not a holding pen for the severely mentally retarded?
barmy, check the State House for them.
And fraternities wonder why they have a bad reputation nationwide.... idiots.
