-- A domestic incident in Roxbury turned ugly last night, as police officers responded to a call from a man under threat from his ex-girlfriend. After breaking up one near-altercation, police returned to the scene to find the suspect breaking into the man's house, allegedly armed with a knife and a firearm. Police arrested the 21 year-old Jamaica Plain woman, and she faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. [BPDNews]
-- More details have emerged in the case of the New Bedford prison escapee. We had already heard that officers guarding accused child rapist Anthony Flye, 38, while he was seeking medical care for an earlier escape attempt allowed him to escape by releasing him from handcuffs. It now seems that a full hour elapsed before state court officials let police know that Flye had escaped, demonstrating an apparent breakdown of protocol. Flye remains at large, and a manhunt continues. [Globe]
All charges alleged until proven under law.
