Boston Blotter: Man Dies in Allston Shooting
--A 25-year-old man was shot to death while sitting in his car early this morning in Allston. An image of the shot-out window and info on WBZ indicates that whoever killed him walked to the rear passenger window and fired. [WBZ]
--The alleged child rapist who escaped from police in New Bedford was sighted at a YMCA. [WBZ]
--In Brighton early this morning, a 22-year-old fell off a second-story porch. His injuries were not life-threatening (thank you Allstonian!). BPD News writes, "According to witnesses, the victim was yelling to somebody when he lost his balance and fell." [BPD News]
--The BPD was busy with Brighton last night. In a story entitled "Loud Party Lands Loud Mouth in Police Custody," police tried to shut down a rager on Cummings Road. A man who said he lived in the apartment did not like the idea and "struck an officer in the shoulder." You can yell at the BPD, but don't touch them. The 18-year-old was arrested on several charges, including "Keeper of a Disorderly House." On top of that, police arrested a guy on heroin charges--in Brighton. [BPD News]
--Within the BPD, the police unions are upset because police commissioner Ed Davis is giving penalties for police officers who, uh, break the law, or at least the rules. Some of Davis' increased punishments make perfect sense: "Domestic violence charges that usually led to 10-day suspensions now often result in 30-day suspensions," but the unions think he's being too tough on more minor offenses. [Boston Globe]
--From the tip board: "On Saturday, March 29, 2008, at approximately 2:45am, an altercation occurred outside of 114 Professors Row in which a Tufts student was stabbed. The student was treated and transported to a local hospital where he is in stable condition and recovering from his injuries. Tufts University Police along with Somerville Police arrested 3 non-students for various charges including assault with a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property."
All charges alleged until proven under law.

You should edit the third item (the 22-year-old who fell off the porch.) You left out a key word: his injuries were NOT life threatening.
