Sunday Happenings

Toots and the Maytals -- who have been performing in one form or another since 1962 -- were still going strong in 2005 when they won a Grammy for their album True Love. Times have changed, but the man who once wore the number 54-46 (in prison, for cannabis possession) can still rock crowds steadily. Paradise Rock Club, 967 Comm. Ave., 8:00pm (through Monday). $26.50. (RS)

Alternate Oscars
The Chlotrudis Awards happen tonight. Unlike the Oscars, they will be a whole lot cooler and less uptight. Tonight, the Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film will honor actress Alberta Watson (best known from "24" and Spanking the Monkey) with its "Career So Far" award. They'll also hand out several awards that thumb its nose at Oscar, including a prize for "Buried Treasure." (This Bostonist has a soft spot for 12:08 East of Bucharest.) Brattle Theatre, 5:00 pm, $20.

Movies
You can spend your entire Sunday looking back on the careers of Ismail Merchant and James Ivory at the Harvard Film Archive. The theater will screen the Ivory-directed Shakespeare Wallah from 1965 at 3:00 pm and Bombay Talkie from 1970 at 9:30 pm. In between will be Merchant's In Custody at 7:00 pm. More information from the Harvard Film Archive.

They're Crafty
CraftBoston continues. The Society of Arts and Crafts corrals more than 175 crafty types and offers objects ranging from hand-blown oil lamps to bookshelves made out of books. Seaport World Trade Center, South Boston, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. $15/$12. (RS)
