Monday Happenings

Books

--Four Stories, brainchild of Tracy Slater, is back from Japan! The series' spring season starts with the theme "Now You See Me, Now You Don't: Tales of Appearing & Disappearing." Scott Heim, Alison Lobron, John Sedgwick, and Laura van den Berg will read. Get there early for the limited couch space and Michael Borum's DJ set. The Enormous Room, 567 Mass Ave, Central Square, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Free.

--Tod Wodika gets in the head of a medieval re-enactor who keeps it real, way real, in order to distance himself from heartbreaking modern problems. Harvard Book Store, 1256 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 7:00 pm. Free.

Bingo
It's a game of bingo where the jeans are tapered instead of pleated and the women wear mullets instead of permanents. DJs Kris P and Elizabeth Grant host Extreme Bingo and spin classic 80s punk all night. Bowling's free, too. Milky Way, 403 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, 9:00pm. Free. (21+)

Booze

Union Square's Independent clears out the less-than-stellar scotch gathering dust in its basement for a good cause at tonight's "Scotch for Old People" event. Proceeds from the evening's $5 cocktails will benefit Cambridge-Somerville Elder Services. The Independent, 75 Union Square, Somerville, 8:00 pm until they run out of Cluny blended scotch.
