Sports Redux: Nothin'

There was almost a full slate of MLB games yesterday. Not here. There were a good handful of NBA games last night. Not here. There were a couple of NHL games. Not here. There are teams still thriving and striving for NCAA glory. Sigh.

Almost everything cranks up again tonight; the Sox are in Oakland, for another game out of prime time. When do they get back home? The Celtics are in Chicago looking for #59 (and #22 by 20 or more; we haven't forgotten) against the Forgeta-Bulls.

So let's take a minute to congratulate the iron of Major League Baseball. The undefeated teams. The teams that can still dream about perfection. Teams like the Brewers, Pirates, Royals, and the Devil Rays, who are all alone in first place in the AL East. Dream your little dreams, fellas; if we weren't lifelong fans of a big-market club, we'd be pulling for you all the way.

Next time you're in Japan, go way up north and visit the Daisuke Matsuzaka museum.

So you can laugh at us later, here are the Official Bostonist Pre(Almost)Season Predictions, playoff teams in caps. NL West: PADRES, Arizona, Colorado, Dodgers, Giants. NL Central: CUBS, Brewers, Cards, Pirates, Astros, Reds. NL East: METS, PHILLY, Nationals, Braves, Marlins.

AL West: ANGELS, Seattle, Texas, A's. AL Central: INDIANS, TIGERS, White Sox, Twins, KC. AL East: RAYS, Yankees, Sox, Blue Jays, Orioles.

When April 1st is over, feel free to switch two of those teams.
