Boston Blotter: Worcester Pastor Arrested for Child Rape

102207-party-police.jpg-- A Worcester pastor was arrested this morning for the rape of a 15-year-old boy. Tyrone Forbes, 49, faces charges that he had engaged in a sexual relationship with the child since last November. In addition to serving as pastor at Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, Forbes also teaches music to children at the Seven Hills Charter School. The alleged victim was not Forbes's student. -- The subprime crisis is beginning to filter into criminal courts. Nicole Lyder, a Boston mortgage broker, pleaded innocent in Suffolk Superior Court today on numerous charges relating to the fraudulent arrangement of subprime mortgages. She faces 21 related counts. [Globe; Herald]

-- Two children in Barnstable narrowly escaped injury when an assailant threw a Molotov cocktail through their window. The 3-year-old boy and 6-month-old girl were rescued by a visiting friend of the family after the munition exploded, igniting curtains and a play tent. No arrests have been made. [Globe]

-- A man wanted by Boston police in connection with a Dorchester domestic incident made himself an easy target yesterday when he arrived at the police station armed with an illegal gun, authorities say. He faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers, and being an armed career criminal.
