Like the stock market, fashion has had its highs and lows this week. So we’ve decided to keep you up to date on the highs (Welcome back, Fashion House!) and the lowest of the lows of the fashion world.
Like a beacon of hope, a fashion favorite in Boston is getting ready to make its grand return to the city. Fashion House is back and it’s kicking off tonight. Nicole Romano whose designs have been worn by everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker to Tinsley Mortimer will be showing her latest collection at the inaugural event at District. This will be the first of many fashion shows featuring a different designer each week at the lounge. It’s a definite must see/must be seen at event. We’ll keep you posted on who’s the next designers to show in the coming weeks, but if you are interested in attending tonight’s show all the info is on districtboston.com or call 617-426-0180.
One of Bostonist’s favorite handbag designers is going to popping up at the bull’s eye in the next few days. Joy Gryson , whose bags can be seen on the shoulders of everyone from Jessica Biel to Michelle Williams, hopped on the affordable fashion bandwagon. Gryson is best known for her bags did during her time at Marc Jacobs.
The bags will be available starting April 6th and have that Marc Jacobs meets Bottega Veneta feel that you’ll fall in love with and with prices ranging from $25 to $49.00, you won’t have to walk past Barneys longing for one of your own! Target’s website will have some exclusive designs that won’t be found in the stores. Word on the street, Botiker will be the next collection to debut after the Gryson collection and if this is true, we’re going to have very large smiles on our faces.
Bostonist was cleaning out their DVR and came across ‘Project Jay’ . The hour long documentary about Project Runway’s first winner, Jay McCarroll . What the hell ever happened to him? Who didn’t love him and don’t act like you didn’t walk around like him and saying, ‘I didn’t steal the bitches dye!’ So what happened to him? After debunking a rumor that he was homeless and living on the streets, McCarroll will be at the helm of the re-launch of Camp Beverly Hills and will be joining fellow Project alum on QVC designing a line of clothing that women of all sizes (from 0 to 3XL) can wear. If that doesn’t fill your Jay fix, during the Independent Film Festival of Boston they will be showing ‘Eleven Minutes’. a documentary that was made by the directors of ‘Project Jay’ and picks up where the hour long special ended.
But it can’t be all rainbows and sunshine in the world of fashion, there is a dark cloud and we suddenly feel like a cat from icanhascheezeburger.com saying For whatever reason, Crocs has decided to take it upon themselves and make a high heel version of their shoe . Now, before you try to wrap your head around this crime against fashion and dare we say, humanity, answer us this; wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of Crocs in the first place? We thought they were suppose be to be the champion of comfortable footwear? According to the description on their site, these shoes will “spice up any fashionista’s wardrobe.” No. No. No. Wait, maybe we’re being too harsh.
No.
We’ve all made our fashion mistakes in the past, but you’re going to get arrested for this fashion crime and no jury is going to let you out unless some hard time is served.
Remember, kiddies - friends don’t let friends wear Crocs.

HAHAHAHAHA, oh god those high heel crocs are HORRID... WHY!?!?!? When will it stop?!
Allie, if we as a nation rallied together...maybe, just maybe we could put a stop to Crocs.
Jocelyn, if no one has put and end to Ugg boots with mini skirts I think the Crocs trend will take even longer to get ride of.
Jocelyn, I fear that so long as a place called "the midwest" exists, crocs, and other similar atrocities, will always exist.
"Will spice up any fashionistas wardrobe"
HAHAHA
Oh yes, I know the perfect thing to go with that million dollar Dior suit... crocs pumps.
if we all meet on the esplanade about crocks- CHANGES COULD BE MADE!
only on the esplanade though!
