The Food Monkey: Interact 4--Citizens of the World

Interact
Friday, April 4
The Estate
9:00 pm, $20

Back in the wild green foothills of my youth, I used to attend parties by a group called Complacent (now called TheDanger). This was in pre-9/11 New York City where hundreds of people gathering in an abandoned warehouse in DUMBO (on the tip of Brooklyn overlooking the Manhattan skyline) wasn't considered a reason to call in the Dept. of Homeland Security.

These parties were the closest I had ever gotten to experiencing what it must have been like at The Factory with Andy Warhol, flowing through the symphony of skin of the intermingling revelers and artists. From fire dancers to bungee artists bouncing from the vaulted ceilings showering the people below with dollar bills, these were truly phenomenal events.

I eventually moved back to Boston, and I believed my days of experiencing such epic gatherings on my home turf were at an end. When I was invited to Interact two years ago, I was gladly proven wrong. Interact has been a series of events evocative of those warehouse parties of old--mixing music, art, and all that delights the senses. Previous parties have tastefully and artistically included chocolate body painting, portraiture of nude models, independent film, fashion, samba dancers, and poetry.

Friday, April 4th marks the fourth iteration of this event and it should not be missed. Held at The Estate, the 21+ party runs from 9pm to 2am and should be well worth the $20 cover charge if you buy in advance. Food will be presented by Vlora, Alba, Toro, which should provide ample satiety to the partying foodie.

You can find out more at interactboston.com, and can purchase tickets by clicking here.
