A metal band from Athol filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Commission of Discrimination, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports. Members of the band, Necronomichrist (say that 10 times fast!), were upset because the city's Skate Park Committee said the band couldn't perform a fundraiser.
The band thought the committee took issue with their buffet of stated religions. The members include a Satanist, an agnostic/Satanist, two agnostics, an athiest, and a Satanist/Buddhist. To each his own. The AP certainly found the band hard to explain and even threw in a helpful pronunciation guide: (Neck-row-NO'-mi-christ).
However, selectmen said they thought the band would be a bit much for young kids. Their record is entitled "Harlequin Fetus," and one fan described their sound thusly: "It made me want to fall over and start twitching." Your thoughts? Was the band censored, or are they really just more suitable for adults?

*Yeah, we know how "Athol" is pronounced. But the joke was way too good!
