Boston Blotter: Gambling Bust Ruins Opening Day Wagers
--"Operation Barber Shop" went into action on the day of the Red Sox's home opener, busting a Commonwealth-wide gambling ring after 15 months of investigation by local, state, and federal authorities. They raided 14 locations, arresting 36 people and collecting 33 laptops. [Boston Globe, Boston Herald]
--A local man confessed to having been inside a Dorchester recording studio when four people were shot and killed there in 2005. He was sentenced 13 years for being an accessory to the murders and for firearm charges. [Boston Globe]
--Authorities pulled "enough fireworks to fill a 16-foot-long cargo box truck as well as six 30 to 55 gallon drums of raw materials" from an alleged house turned fireworks factory in Plymouth. According to the Globe, the residence has been linked to fireworks-related activity since the early 1990s. [Boston Globe]
All charges alleged until proven under law.

news video showed Mr. Rinaldi to be about 400 lbs., struggling to get out of the house alone. Clearly, this guy has issues. I suspect the Commonwealth is about to get more involved, (just in time, before he turns his neighborhood into a vacant lot).
