More on the Alleged Killers of Chelsea Frazier
The case of Chelsea Frazier, the Southbridge mom who was shot to death in front of her baby son in the Bronx over the weekend, gets stranger and stranger. At first, it appeared to be a robbery as her fiancee, Carlos Cruz, fought with a man over a gold chain. Then it came out that she had broken up with the fiancee, and he may have wanted revenge, so police arrested him.
In the latest news, Frazier's ex-fiancee may have plotted the whole killing by hiring his own cousin, Devon Miller, to kill Frazier for $1,000. Only Miller was allegedly an armed bungler, and he didn't get the plan exactly right. From the Globe:
Cruz allegedly paid Miller $1,000 to fire the gun, with two bullets striking Frazier in the torso, The New York Times reported on its website yesterday. Miller then fled, prompting Cruz to chase after him yelling something like, "Hey, you forgot to shoot me," the Times reported. Miller then allegedly shot him in the leg.
Frazier's family members have been sharing details of Cruz' possible possessiveness. All charges alleged, as always, but if true this crime is both absurd and disgusting.
Cruz and Frazier's baby is now with Frazier's family in Massachusetts.
All charges alleged until proven under law.

Whether or not Chelsea had reached 16 when the child was conceived, this was rape of a child, IMHO. 18 and working at a strip joint? 36 y.o. "fiance"? Her parents have a lot of explaining to do. Poor kid never had a chance.
C'mon guys -- you haven't picked up on the glaring parallels to the Charles Stuart case yet?! Is there even one quasi-native Bostonist who was actually living in the area circa 1989, or are all of you carpetbaggers?
Nope. We're not all carpetbaggers. I know about the Stuart case, but I intentionally left it out because I wanted the emphasis of the story to be on just how dumb these alleged perpetrators were and how awful this specific crime is. The story is about Chelsea Frazier, not Charles Stuart.
Sadly, this case could be linked to many crimes against women in Massachusetts.
I was around when it happened. (Even know Carl DiMaiti, FWIW, great guy). However Carol was an adult who had chosen quality prenatal care. As tragic as the Stuart case was, Chelsea was a case of kids having kids, exacerbated by an adult rapist/"fiance" and "parents" who long ago avoided their responsibilities to Chelsea. Wait for their wailing in the next few days. NOW they're concerned about her companions. Too bad THEY can't be charged.
first of all, you all don't know shit. My mother did a great job raising the three of us. Let me pray for you all that nothing happens to anyone in your family the way it happened to my sister. None of us knew his real age to begin with. Regardless under the circumstances, these two are fucking scumbags. If it hadn't been her then it would have been someone else. So keep your comments to yourself. You are pissing me off.
