--Meet the allegedly worst colleague ever: Revere police officer Evan Franklin may be fired because he is accused of running away after Officer Dan Talbot was shot in the head and killed behind Revere High School. He is also accused of lying to investigators after the incident. The officers were off-duty but had been drinking before the incident. [WBZ, background: Bostonist]
--Yesterday, a fire broke out in a Brookline home on Harrison Street, and the blaze sent 6 firefighters to the hospital. [Boston Globe]
--Meet State Rep. Charles Murphy, aka "Casper," who somehow voted on seven budget measures while in St. Croix. Murphy is the same distinguished legislator who got into a slightly physical dustup with fellow Rep. Patrick Natale last October. [Boston Herald]
--The chief of the Mashpee Wampanoags, 85-year-old Vernon Lopez, is stepping down, which could have an impact on the fight to bring a casino to the area. [WCVB]
