Music
-- Dead Meadow occupies the space in the Venn diagram of rock where Galaxie 500, Neil Young, and Black Sabbath intersect. Their latest album, Old Growth is out on Matador Records. Middle East Downstairs, 472 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 8:00pm. $12.
-- It started way back in history: start Patriot's Day early by commemorating Paul Revere's famous ride. A lantern lighting ceremony includes a performance by the Michigan Colonial Fife & Drum corps, the USS Constitution Color Guard, the ringing of the Old North steeple bells, a reading of Longfellow's immortal poem, Paul Revere's Ride, music by the Old North Chamber Choir and a reenactment of the lighting of the two signal lanterns. Old North Church, 193 Salem St., 8:00pm. Free.
Movies
-- The Brattle Theatre is in the thick of a repertory series called "No Borders, No Limits: Nikkatsu Action and '60s Japan." Tonight's big movie is the insane Black Rose Mansion from 1969, starring female impersonator Akihiro Maruyama as a chanteuse. Bostonist had the privilege of seeing another movie with Maruyama entitled Black Lizard, and if this movie is half as much of a trip as Lizard, you'll have a wonderful time. Brattle Theatre, 9:30 pm. $9.50. (CR)
