U.S. Women's Olympic Marathon Trials

Bostonist got up early today to check out the 2008 U.S. Women's Olympic Marathon Trials downtown. The course took the women on several loops through downtown, finishing at the same spot on Boylston where tomorrow's Boston Marathon will end.

As expected, Deena "Dozen" Kastor won the race by a decent margin, carrying an American flag down the home stretch to finish in 2:29:35. She was followed by Magdalena Lewy Boulet in 2:30:19 and Blake Russell (2:32:40) to round out our Olympic marathon team. Zoila Gomez (2:33:53) barely beat out Tera Moody (2:33:54) in an intense finish to claim the alternate spot.
