Boston Blotter: Bloody Monday
-- The 13 year old boy found shot early yesterday morning was the victim of two assailants on bicycles, police say. The victim, whose name has not been released, was steps from his own doorway when two bullets struck him in the groin. Police say the victim was not a known troublemaker and cast initial doubt that he was the target of the attack. The boy is expected to live, but may suffer permanent injury. No arrests have been made. [Globe; Herald]
-- More details have emerged in yesterday's daytime Jamaica Plain killing. Despite initial reports on the scene, it does not appear to have been a drive-by. The victim, Luis Troncoso, a 20 year old father of two from Dorchester, was shot in the head while playing basketball at 4:00pm yesterday in Southwest Corridor Park, directly across from the Stony Brook MBTA station. The killing rocked an ordinarily quiet area of Jamaica Plain. Police describe the assailant as a young black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a baseball cap. No arrests have been made. [Globe; Herald]
-- In what police claim was unrelated gang violence, four men were shot at roughly 5:45pm in Dorchester yesterday evening. All four men were hospitalized with severe injuries, but each is expected to survive. No arrests have been made. Globe; Herald]
-- Three men have been charged in yesterday's fatal stabbing in Worcester. The victim, whom police identify as 35 year old Jack McGuire, of Westborough, was found dead in a BMW with a stab wound to his leg. The three suspects were picked up by Worcester police last night. Police believe the killing was drug related. [MetroWest Daily News]
-- A Lowell school worker was placed on administrative leave as New Hampshire authorities investigate his role in the death of his coworker and live-in girlfriend. [Herald; Union Leader]

a bike-by shooting? goddamn.
has it occurred to anyone that if your 13 year old is out of the house after midnight you already have a problem, whether or not there is gunplay?
