Heads Up, KISS Army
-- Paul Stanley--yeah, that Paul Stanley--is going to show his artwork in an exhibition at the Mall at Chestnut Hill. Gene Simmons' tongue better be involved. Wentworth Gallery, Mall at Chestnut Hill, 199 Boylston, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. (CR)

-- Ra Ra Riot will play riotously danceable indie-punk at the Middle East. Prepare to sweat through a shirt or two, and bring your earplugs. With The Little Ones and Hooray For Earth. Middle East Downstairs, 480 Mass Ave, Central Square. 18+, $12. (KS)
-- The New England Folk Festival plays all weekend (April 25-27) in Mansfield, MA. Featured artists include Blue Moose and the Unbuttoned Zippers, Michele Colangelo, Bob Isaacs, Sue Jick, and more. In addition to music, the festival features lots of dancing (especially contra), craft booths, and many other attractions. 250 East Street, Mansfield, MA. $10-75 depending on how many days you attend. -- IFFBoston continues. Highlights today include Second Skin, a documentary about online gaming, and Joy Division, a hagiography. Various venues, times, and ticket prices.
-- Registration at ROFLCon has closed, but don't fret if you miss the conference. Remember that Dave Chappelle sketch where he imagines what the internet would look like if it were a place? Yeah, that's what they're going for. Various venues and times. Sold out.
Opera
-- Guerilla Opera presents Andy Vores's No Exit. Hell is not opera. Hell is not operatic interpretations of Sartre. But hell is other people. Zack Box Theatre, Boston Conservatory, 8 The Fenway. 8:00 pm, through Sunday. $7.
-- Who knew Mozart wrote an opera about the Orient Express? The Abduction from the Seraglio, a singspiel (opera with spoken parts) about concubine kidnapping, introduces its audience to the hilarious and inscrutable East. Presented by Boston Lyric Opera. Shubert Theatre, 265 Tremont St., 7:30pm (through Sunday and again next weekend). $33-$181.
Jazz
-- Jazz Week Boston starts tomorrow. Get in the spirit of things by checking out the photography exhibition at Blues in the 'Bury. Jazz musicians Jim Hobbs and The Brothers of Heliopolis and Ken Hollman and Agape perform live. Media Arts Building #1, Roxbury Community College, 1234 Columbus Ave., 8:00pm. $10 donation.
