Music
-- Don't you just love seesaws? Teitur (not totter) plays heartfelt folk designed to make you happy as a Dane. Accompanied by our buddy, guitar virtuoso Newton Faulkner (sort of a British Jack Johnson), and Jessie Baylin. Middle East Downstairs, 480 Mass Ave, Central Square. 18+, $12 advance, $14 doors. (KS)
-- Something has to rub off when your parents are James Taylor and Carly Simon. Their son, singer-songwriter Ben Taylor, plays tonight. Try not to stare at the supportive mother in the corner. Cafe 939, 939 Boylston St, 8:00 pm. $10. (RV)
Hitchcock in 3-D
-- Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder was filmed in 3-D, and you have a rare chance to see it in that format tonight. It's not Hitchcock's best film, but the gimmick and the plot about a perfect murder gone awry draw you in anyway. Coolidge Corner Theatre, 290 Harvard St, Brookline, 2:00 pm, 4:30 pm, 7:00 pm, 9:30 pm. $9. (RV)
Events that Make Us Uncomfortable
-- If you did not win your ImprovBoston date auction, you may be in luck, a word we use in its loosest sense. ImprovBoston hosts the Naked Comedy Showcase. We recommend packing condoms for your eyes. ImprovBoston Theatre, 40 Prospect St., Cambridge, 10:00pm. $10.
-- Cindy Pierce does a one-woman show dedicated to the lighter side of sex. Finding the Doorbell is part instructional presentation, part exploration of other people's sex lives. Milky Way, 403 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, 9:00pm. $10.
